Transport options to the festival

Drive

With over 30,000 visitors expected at the festival, car parking is very limited in Portarlington. The journey from Melbourne takes around 90 minutes, but can be longer due to traffic coming into Portarlington.

If you do need to drive, you can follow the festival parking signs to the designated car park at the Portarlington Recreation Reserve, off Sproat Street. From there it’s an easy 8 minute walk along the foreshore or catch a free shuttle bus.

Cruise

Searoad Ferries from Mornington Peninsula

If you are coming from the Mornington Peninsula, the best way to travel is by sea on the Searoad Ferry between Sorrento and Queenscliff.

There are hourly departures each way between 7am and 6pm, seven days a week. Book early if you plan on bringing your car onboard.

Port Phillip Ferries packages from Melbourne or Geelong

Kick back and enjoy a cruise across the bay from Melbourne’s Docklands or Geelong with Port Phillip Ferries. The fast cat service (foot passengers only) takes 70 minutes to Portarlington or 40 mins from Geelong. The fast cat vessels feature a licensed café on board, so you can get your coffee fix or enjoy a cheeky beer or wine during the journey. Not to mention, they have other cold drinks and sweet and savoury snacks from local producers.
